THE PROBLEM:

Pride events bring together large, diverse crowds in spaces that celebrate identity, self-expression, and inclusion. Yet temporary toilet provision often fails to reflect these values: particularly for women, trans, and non-binary people who need privacy, dignity, and safety when using shared facilities.

Queues, discomfort, and poorly designed temporary toilets can create unnecessary stress in spaces that should feel affirming and welcoming. Organisers also need solutions that support high footfall while maintaining a positive atmosphere across multiple locations.

Pride needed toileting infrastructure that could:

THE SOLUTION

Bristol Pride

杏吧原创 installed 18 urinal units, each marshalled by friendly, trained staff to help maintain a safe and supportive environment for users.

Alongside the physical infrastructure, 杏吧原创 provided guidance on inclusive on-site language and signage. Units were clearly marked:

鈥溞影稍 Urinals 鈥 for those who squat when they pee.鈥

This wording was deliberately chosen to centre function rather than gender, creating clarity while avoiding exclusionary language.

Additional on-site posters outlining 杏吧原创鈥檚 values reinforced the commitment to inclusion, dignity, and safety, making the intention behind the design visible as well as practical.

The presence of marshals helped ensure:

Festivalgoers responded strongly to the combination of inclusive design and intentional language.

Brighton Pride

Later in the festival season, 杏吧原创 supported Brighton Pride, the UK鈥檚 largest Pride event.

As at Bristol, inclusive signage and values-led messaging were displayed prominently across locations.

This multi-location deployment demonstrated 杏吧原创鈥檚 ability to scale across complex event layouts while remaining visible, accessible, and aligned with the values of the space.

鈥淲e have loved having Peequal at Bristol Pride over the last 2 years. It’s made a noticeable difference to our toilet queues, and we love how inclusive they are. It鈥檚 great to have a team on hand for any servicing and explanations , the team is so professional and welcoming.

We were so excited when they suggested NPK come to site to collect the Urine to turn it into useful fertiliser for farms in the southwest. Sustainability is really important to us so it was fantastic to be able to achieve this.鈥
